OBJECTIVES

General Objectives

  • Update and expand the knowledge of students on various aspects related to interventional techniques for the diagnosis and treatment of mediastinal and pleuro-pulmonary diseases, according to international standards of safety and quality for the patient.

Specific Objectives

  • Provide the scientific basis for the diagnostic approach to all respiratory pathology using thoracic ultrasound, both in consultations and in specific units.

  • Provide a theoretical and practical basis for the therapeutic approach to endobronchial tumor pathology using laser, cryoprobes, argon, and electrocautery, as well as refine the technique of placing endobronchial stents.

  • Expand theoretical and practical knowledge of the various diagnostic and treatment techniques for different pleuro-pulmonary diseases that require a transthoracic approach.

  • Understand the indications and contraindications, as well as acquire practical skills, in the various endoscopic techniques aimed at the diagnosis and treatment of both neoplastic and non-neoplastic pulmonary and mediastinal diseases.

TEACHING CHARACTERISTICS

The objective of this training initiative is to give our students a high level online practical learning.

The program will have a system of controlled access to the contents according to the pages visited.

This program intends to stand out for the following training characteristics:

Use of innovative technological teaching tools.

Multimedia contents.

Bidirectional multiprofessional communication channels.

Creation of a virtual learning community.

Multimedia Content

38 Video classes and 22 interactive clinical cases

Detailed description of operating theatre procedures

19 Videotechniques

METHODOLOGY

The teaching methodology is based on two-way learning between students and the scientific board through a collaborative approach. Throughout the program, students will have to demonstrate the assimilation of concepts in qualitative assessments.

This will be achieved through the following tools and resources:

  • Forum / Chat per module. Moderated and exclusively to resolve content issues, not technical ones.

The methodology will focus on training through the review of updated theoretical/practical content in each subject, but also through real clinical cases that reproduce the usual clinical practice and video techniques of the most common interventions.

To obtain the IPE Expert Certificate, the student must pass all the modules of the program.
